How it works
Frequently asked
What is WSET Level 1?
The WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 1 Award in Wines is part of a globally recognised qualification ladder running from Level 1 (foundation) to Level 3 (advanced). It is the standard credential for trade and serious enthusiasts at this level of study.
Are these the actual exam questions?
No. These are practice questions written to mirror the syllabus, format and difficulty of the WSET Level 1 exam. They are a study tool, not a leaked exam - use them to find your weak spots and revise.
How are the question count and timing chosen?
They match the published WSET Level 1 specification: 30 multiple-choice questions in 45 minutes with a 70% pass mark on the multiple-choice section.
What happens if the timer runs out?
The paper is auto-submitted when the timer hits zero, exactly like a real sitting. Your score reflects only the questions you had answered by then; unanswered questions count as incorrect.
Are questions different each time?
Yes. Each paper is a fresh random draw from the Level 1 question bank, so retaking the paper gives you a new mix. The bank is updated regularly to keep it fresh and accurate.
I think a question is wrong - what should I do?
Get in touch via the Contact page with the question text and your reasoning. Every flag gets a human review, and corrections are pushed live within a few days.
